Customs, NIWA Sail to Victory in Thrilling Maritime Cup Clashes 

 

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) football team has booked its place in the semifinals of the 2025 Ships & Ports Maritime Cup Tournament, joining Comet Shipping, Micura Services, and the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in the last four of the competition, which kicked off on 4 November 2025.

Customs secured the second semifinal ticket in Group B after edging out the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) 2–1 this afternoon at the NIS Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. Their victory came a day after NPA clinched the group’s first semifinal berth.

With all four semifinalists confirmed, the group stage has officially concluded, ushering the tournament into the knockout phase.

Both semifinal matches are scheduled for Monday, 24 November, at the Stable Sports Complex, Surulere.

Comet Shipping, leaders of Group A and defending champions, will face Group B runners-up Nigeria Customs Service at 1 p.m.

In the second fixture at 3 p.m., Group B winners NPA will take on Group A runners-up Micura Services Limited

All four teams have previously lifted the Maritime Cup. Comet Shipping are the reigning champions; Customs boast five titles (2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017); NPA have won three times (2018, 2022, 2023); while Micura claimed the trophy in 2010.
