All is set for the semi-final matches of the ongoing 10th Ships & Ports Maritime Cup competition holding in Lagos.

The two semi-final matches will be played tomorrow (Saturday) at Surulere, Lagos with 2009 champions, Nigerian Navy taking on the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) at 3pm after the first semi-final encounter between the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and defending champions, Nigeria Customs Service, which is slated for 1pm. Both matches will be played at the NPA Sports Ground, Surulere, Lagos.

Navy booked its semi-final spot from Group A where it finished top of the table with 5 points. The Navy team played a 2-2 draw with NIMASA; defeated Apapa Bulk Terminal Limited (ABTL) 3-0 and played a barren draw with Josephdam Port Services (JPS).

NIMASA secured its semi-final berth by placing second on the Group A table having played a 2-2 draw with Navy; lost 3-5 to JPS and defeated ABTL 3-0.

Defending champions, Customs secured their third straight semi-final ticket of the competition by topping Group B with 7 points having played 1-1 draw with group mates, Certified Institute of Shipping (CIS); defeated NPA 3-0 and also defeated Tin Can Island Container Terminal (TICT) 7-1.

NPA came second on the Group B table with 6 points after winning their opening match against TICT 6-0; lost 0-3 to Customs and defeated CIS 2-0.

The Maritime Cup 2018 is supported by Dangote Port Operation and MORBOD Fisheries Limited.
